FLOOD FREE VELACHERY

Possibility of your project : FREE FLOW OF MONSOON WATER IN THE CANAL

4k.ms. stretch of canal runs from Velachery lake to Velachery Railway staion and runs till Kaively; purpose of which to let rainwater run smoothly preventing the area flooded during heavy rain. But what we see is that the canal is filled with debris, sacs of waste materials, demolished building debris, plastic materials, etc. The atmosphere has become the source of pollution and diseases. Hence the project for the benefit of Velachery Community. Full length of 4km canal cleared off debris and covered by concrete platform. The space can be utilised purposefully.

Benefits

1. Pedestrian platform throughout till the Velachery Rly Station (no such thing at present; people have to wade through vehicular traffic & parking vehicles on the By
Pass Road and Velachery Main Road, VijYa NagarJunction).

2. Two wheeler parking can be allotted in 5 places, 3 in Bypass Road and 2 in Vijayanagar Main Road.

3. Miniparks erected and maintained by sponsors.

4. Benches erected in both the sides of 7 street corners in the Bypass Roadside, for the benefit of the elderly morning walkers.

5. Free flow of vehicular traffic on the Bypass Road and Vijaya nagarjuonction as a result of the above
